Carolina Green was selected in 2001 as the sports field provider for UVa. Athletics, and has performed all sports field construction and renovation since that time. Jobs have included design build/renovation of stadium turf, reconstruction of football practice facility, practice fields, baseball, and soccer. Work included Cambridge slit drainage systems, irrigation, soil modification, laser grading, sod and sprig installation.

North Carolina State University - Football Practice Fields
A design/build project allowing field rotation and perimeter workout areas. Carolina Green manufactured, imported and laser leveled a rootzone-growing medium, installed drainage and irrigation systems, installed sand cap, sprigs and sod. NCSU's goal was to construct a quality sports field that withstands a high level of traffic in a wide range of weather conditions.

A 96,000 sf design/build project including excavation and laser grade preparation of sub-grade, installation of sand slit drainage and irrigation systems, soil modification using sand and an organic compost manufactured by Carolina Green. Field supports all Duke Soccer and Lacrosse programs.
City of Myrtle Beach - Doug Shaw Stadium
Design/build renovation project. Carolina Green removed unsuitable material and added USGA sand due to the high organic content of the existing soil. Limited outfall of existing storm drains necessitated a very intensive drainage network. State of the art irrigation system and specially blended sand cap maximized growth of TifSport Bermuda sprigs.

Carolina Green was contracted to renovate Legion Stadium Field in 2000. Challenges with the site were related to it's former use as a horse track, and later an auto speedway dirt track. Renovations consisted of stripping existing sod, re-grading the field and installing irrigation and sand slit drainage systems. The City of Wilmington contacted Carolina Green again in 2002 for the design/build of Hardee Baseball Stadium in which similar construction was performed.

Wingate University  Football Stadium Practice Fields

Wingate University Football Stadium & Practice Fields
New design/build construction was performed at Wingate University 's Football Stadium and Practice field in 1998. Renovations included laser grading, installation of topsoil, drainage and irrigation systems. Sand, compost, fertilizer and lime were incorporated into the topsoil to maximize the growing medium for hybrid Bermuda sprigs. In addition to the football facilities, Carolina Green was the design/build contractor for Wingate's Softball Facility in 1999 and Baseball Field in 1996.
University of Virginia at Wise
Carolina Green was asked to design/build a new baseball field in 2002 on an existing field within the perimeters of a jogging track. Their goal was to maximize field space within the limits of the track while correcting severe grade and drainage issues. Existing dugouts and fencing were removed, allowing us to shift the field to acquire proper field dimensions and laser grade the field to proper elevations. Stockpiled topsoil was redistributed. Sand slit drainage, irrigation, infield soil mix, warning track with drain, and bluegrass sod were installed. Vinyl fencing, bullpens and windscreen were the finishing elements to the field. The discovery of springs in right field were an unexpected challenge.

2003 design/build renovation project including removal of the existing sod, infields and fence, installation of new irrigation and sand slit and perimeter drainage systems. Soil modification, installation of infield conditioners, sod and artificial turf, warning track, windscreen and new Green Monster Fencing make this field one of the finest.

University of South Carolina Williams Brice Football Stadium Field
Project involved analysis of soil conditions and proposal of renovation options. Carolina Green stripped the existing sod, laser graded to new elevations with .75% slope, fumigated, installed sand slit drainage, TifSport sod, and artificial turf at sidelines.

American Hebrew Academy – Soccer Stadium, Two Soccer Practice, Football Practice, and Baseball Fields
Design/build project of K-12 school athletic fields. Fields were constructed with sand slit drainage and irrigation systems and required significant soil modification through installation of 10” of soil mix. The fields were finished with sod. Unique challenges included working over the 700 wells drilled in the fields to supply heat/cooling capabilities in the campus buildings.
